Ghassoul Clay is a Volcanic Clay naturally high in raw, unprocessed minerals like Magnesium & Potassium. Only found in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, it has been used for centuries by many different cultures as a cosmetic ingredient, the name derived from the Arabic word Rhassala – “to wash,” or, “the Mountain of the Washer.”
The metallic elements in Ghassoul clay hold a negative charge, drawing out positive charged impurities in the skin, which the soap binds to and washes away. The detoxifying reddish brown clay contains roughly 50% silica, better known as quartz powder, a key ingredient in collagen production which boosts the skins protection and elasticity.
